December 9th 2018 'Mary's Faith and Your Faith'
Luke 1:34-37 (NKJV)
“34 Then Mary said to the angel, “How can this be, since I do not know a man?” And the angel answered and said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God. 36 Now indeed, Elizabeth your relative has also conceived a son in her old age; and this is now the sixth month for her who was called barren. 37 For with God nothing will be impossible.”
Luke 18:26-28 (NKJV)
26 And those who heard it said, “Who then can be saved?” 27 But He said, “The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.”
“Mary’s Faith and Your Faith”
Luke 1:37 “For with God nothing will be impossible.” This statement was made to Mary, as she was receiving the most incredible promise ever given to a human being concerning physical possibilities. “You (a virgin) shall have a child, and the child will be God’s Son.” His miraculous entry, via the virgin birth, is an overwhelming reality and mystery. The virgin birth of Jesus is a profound article of our faith.
