NCD
Natural Church Development (NCD) is a worldwide movement that is helping churches improve their health and is drawing people closer to God by measuring the vitality and effectiveness of each church.
Natural Church Development: A Guide to Eight Essential qualities of Healthy Churches by Christian Schwarz examines These eight quality characteristics are:
- Empowering Leadership
- Gift-based Ministry
- Passionate Spirituality
- Effective Structures
- Inspiring Worship Service
- Holistic Small groups
- Need-oriented Evangelism
- Loving Relationships
NCD measures the health or quality of a Church by using a carefully prepared survey with 30 members of the Church to determine where it stands in relation to these 8 characteristics listed above.
LMUMC has a Church Health team made up of Joe Hastings, Mary Jim Bottcher, Russell Smith, Christy Marquard, Kris Hyde, Rita Treutel. We all went for training Tuesday, November 11th at 1st UMC in Gadsden.
You'll be hearing more about NCD in the coming weeks and we need everyone to be in prayer as we start out on this process. Continuous and intentional prayer for God to release our church's full potential is critical.
